Challenge #1

2024 Futurity Contest 1- Pasture Gather (Sheep & Cattle)

Before running, the handler determines the points/ distance they will attempt. The set-out team will set the livestock from the arena.

Handler and dog start at the Handler’s Post (between the 2 flags set at each distance).

Time starts when the dog is sent. If a dog gets up on his or her own, time will start. Once the dog is sent, the Handler can move anywhere in the pasture to assist the dog.

The dog is to gather the stock to the handler and bring them across their designated point line between the flags.

If time runs out, before crossing the line, there will be a 50% point deduction.

Challenge #2

Challenge #2 will be a farm/ranch style challenge and will include the following activities:

1) sort

2) free standing trailer load

3) Gather at least 250 feet

4) some pen work

Cattle confront a herding dog in an arena.

Challenge #3

It's a Surprise!

But will have levels for everyone!
