In Loving Memory of

Floyd Harding

A warm message from Jacqueline
"Floyd and his dog Luke have been coming out to train for the last several years. He has been a fixture here. He and Luke had their own special training program. Floyd was fond of telling us that Luke( named after Cool Hand Luke) and he "had a failure to communicate."

Floyd told dad jokes every day and loved to entertain us. He was proud that he was still able to come out and work his dog at his ever increasing age. He was here whenever the gates were open. Everybody took care of him and he was part of our family here. It brought him great joy to be here doing this thing that he loved. His daughter told us that he often spoke about his training time here.

Near the end, he spoke more often about his age and let us all know he knew the end of his training and trialing days were near. He was very sad about that.

On numerous occasions, he told us he wanted to go on the trial field and that if he did pass there to bury him at the handler's post.

It was an honor to know Floyd and to be a part of his journey in dog training and it was a privilege to be with him on his last day on earth. Just as determined as he lived his life, he passed exactly the way he wished.

Stay on your feet Floyd. We miss you around here."
