Board and Train for ranch dogs or trial dogs.
Only approved dogs qualify. We will conduct ability and interest testing and will do a 2 week trial to give us the best chance at success.
Your dogs are treated like my dogs. They get one on one time, long runs on property, swim in the tanks and work livestock! It's kind of like working dog heaven!
We will create a customized training plan that will meet your need and your dogs' abilities.
Boarding school programs start at a minimum of 3 months. It can take several days to weeks for some dogs to fully adapt to Boarding School and build a relationship with us strong enough to get to work. We work and train during those adjustment weeks, however, we take our time and focus on the relationship. Once the dogs adjust- training starts to really stick and we can make much more rapid progress. Some breeds/individuals are faster to adapt and faster to train than others.
Getting off of the Right Paw - This 3 day camp focuses on starting your herding/ stockdog off on the right foot! Dogs and handlers will learn the basics of working livestock.
This would be a pre-requisite for Farm & Ranch Camp
September 24-26 (Intro to Sheep!)
Driver's Education- Teach your dog how to drive. Teach inside flanks, fence drives and off the fence driving!

Need a dog to help you out on your farm or ranch? Want to try herding as a sport? We offer training for both practical farm and ranch work as well as for the sport of herding dog trialing.
Is Your Dog Eligible?
Only herding breeds are eligible to participate for lessons. Non-herding breeds cannot participate in herding events and I am not equipped to train those breeds. Mixed breed dogs are allowed but they must resemble and act like a herding breed.
Human and dog aggressive dogs are not permitted to attend lessons. If you have a concern about this, please contact me. Dogs that are hard on livestock may be required to wear a muzzle.
This sport requires obedience and strict adherence to ethical treatment of livestock. We are kind to our dogs and livestock. The primary purpose of a herding dog is to care for livestock.
Dogs must be over 6 months of age, be vaccinated and healthy. We don't impose an upper age limit as some dogs surprise us, but if your dog is geriatric, this is not the right sport. Dogs exhibiting any injury or lameness or appear in any way not physically up to the challenge will not be allowed.
We will be learning:
We will give your dog a chance to see if he/she is interested in doing herding work. Not all herding dogs are actually bred to herd anymore. So plan to be ok with whatever your dog tells you.
Each session is customized to the individual dog and handler with specific goals in mind. Herding is a very intense sport, so we will work our sessions for the best interest of the dog and the stock. You will be scheduled for an hour, however, you won't start out working the entire hour. Your dog must develop attention and stamina.
Wear comfortable FLAT shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.
Herding has the possibility of being dangerous. Our stock are gentle but accidents do happen. Be sure to inform your instructor if you have any mobility issues or are nervous around sheep.
YOU MUST schedule lessons in advance.
